Lincoln Edge Vets

A Little About Us

Lincoln Edge Vets began as musings between two friends whilst working in corporate practice during the Covid-19 lockdown of 2020. We had both always had the ambition to own and run an independent veterinary practice, but it had become obvious that it would not be possible to take the once familiar path of firstly becoming a partner in a practice, with a view to eventually taking over.

We had grown somewhat disillusioned with the way that veterinary practice seemed to be changing and wanted to get back to the “traditional” veterinary model of being the local village vets, an integral part of the local community. We did not want to lose though, our clinical ambition, to always strive to keep up to date with current research and work to the highest standards.

We have chosen our location carefully to fill a gap in local veterinary services due to the loss of staff from local practices, loss of independent practices and to fit into the ‘village vet’ ethos that our practice will strive towards. We know the local villages have a strong sense of community and we want to get to know you all! Our name came from our location, situated on the Lincoln Edge – or Lincoln Cliff as it is also known.

Our building was constructed in 2022 and we have invested in having a purpose-built facility to enable us to provide exceptional care for our patients.

The team will be led by us, Sarah Bartlett and Alice Simpson-McDermott, we are also the company founders and directors. We are both competent and confident all-round small animal vets with a combined experience of 35 years in small animal general practice.

Our wonderful nursing team, Rachael and Jennie, are nurses we have known for a number of years, who we know to be amazing nurses with strong clinical abilities and excellent levels of client and patient care.

Our lovely receptionist, Natalie, has years of experience as a veterinary receptionist and is keen to welcome you. She completes our small, friendly, team at Lincoln Edge Vets.

Sarah Bartlett

BVetMed MRCVS

Sarah is one of the founding directors of Lincoln Edge Vets. She spent her childhood wishing she could become a vet, and finally realised this dream when she graduated from Glasgow Veterinary school in 2002.

After leaving university Sarah settled in Nottinghamshire where she worked for a couple of smaller practices before joining Parkview Veterinary hospital in North Hykeham, where she progressed to the role of Clinical Director. Over the next thirteen years she went on to develop a wide range of surgical and medical skills, and a strongly-bonded client base. She loves getting to know them and their many animals!

Sarah enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine; however, her main interests are soft tissue surgery and diagnostic imaging.

Outside of work Sarah is married with two children, a labrador, a cat and two rabbits. In her free time, she enjoy keeping active in the great outdoors, especially running, cycling and recently paddle boarding.
